Safety & Quality for Your Cleaning Contract

Aussie Duo Cleaning Service is a family-owned business serving Canberra and Queanbeyan since 2013. For commercial cleaning contracts, we work with you to understand the site, agree on the cleaning requirements and set up clear access and reporting arrangements.

The aim is simple: protect the people on your site, respect your property and clean to the scope we agreed.

Prefer to start online? Send us your site details and photos for a quote.

Before work starts

Every commercial site is different, so we start by talking through how your site works.

  • We can inspect your site in person before we quote, or prepare a quote online from the details and photos you send us.
  • We agree on what we clean, when we clean and how we get in.
  • We ask about site hazards and any rules your site has for contractors.
  • We complete your site induction and sign-in wherever your site requires them.
  • Where people or vehicles may be nearby, we agree how we’ll keep them clear of our work area.
  • Before work that could disturb a surface, we ask you or your building manager for the asbestos register and any related reports. If a surface may contain asbestos or lead paint, we don’t clean it until it has been properly assessed.

Some clients also ask for a safe work method statement (SWMS). A SWMS sets out the hazards of a task and how they are controlled. The law requires one for high-risk construction work.

Most routine cleaning isn’t high-risk construction work, but a client may still ask for a SWMS or a task safety procedure as part of the contract.

Safety in day-to-day work

People and equipment

  • Our owner, Jeeva Palasundram, trains each team member in our cleaning methods, equipment use, chemical handling, protective gear and site safety before they start.
  • Every team member is police checked and holds a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration in the ACT and a Working with Children Check in NSW.
  • Most of our cleaners have completed asbestos awareness and silica awareness training.
  • Before a team member uses a piece of equipment on their own, we watch them use it and record the check.
  • We service our equipment every three months, and our electrical equipment is tested and tagged.
  • Our team is supplied with gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, high-visibility clothing, waterproof clothing and respirators, and wears what each task needs.
  • Team members who work alone check in through our job management system.
  • Our subcontractors work under their own ABN and insurance. We brief them on site hazards, safety rules and emergency arrangements before they start.

Chemicals and task planning

  • We never mix cleaning products. Each product is diluted with water following its label instructions.
  • We keep the safety data sheet for each product we use.
  • Before pressure cleaning or other outdoor work, we check for nearby electrical fittings and overhead power lines. If water or equipment could reach them, we stop and set up controls first.

Hazard and incident reporting

  • Team members report hazards, incidents, injuries and near misses to the owner, and each one is recorded on our incident report form.
  • We have a written emergency plan and an emergency contact list for our team.
  • Every work vehicle carries a first aid kit.

Quality and communication

We clean to the scope you agreed with us, so both sides know what each visit includes.

  • Checklists and reports: every commercial contract includes them, showing what was done on each visit.
  • Same-day satisfaction guarantee: every job carries it. Before we leave, we re-clean anything that isn’t right.
  • Feedback: if something is missed or you want a change, tell us. We’re always open to client feedback, and we use it to improve our service.
  • No lock-in contract: we work under a service agreement, and you can end it with two weeks’ notice.

Respect for your premises

Keys and alarm codes are managed through our own system and given only to the team members who clean your site. If one of our team misuses a key or code, Aussie Duo takes responsibility.

We follow your site rules on access, sign-in and contractor conduct.

Insurance, training and documents

  • Business: Aussie Duo Cleaning Service is the trading name of Jeeva Palasundram as trustee for The Palasundram Family Trust, ABN 99 253 199 401.
  • Public liability: $20 million.
  • Workers compensation: covers our work in the ACT and NSW.
  • Construction crews: hold White Cards.
  • IICRC: our lead technician holds IICRC CRT and WRT certifications. These are individual technician certifications, not a company accreditation.

Available on request

  • A current certificate of currency for our public liability insurance.
  • Police check, WWVP, Working with Children Check and training records for the team members on your site, with their consent.
