What equipment do you use for carpet drying?

We use a truck-mounted hot water extraction machine to pull water out of the carpet, and moisture meters to find the wet areas. If your room needs them, we can also supply air movers or dehumidifiers to help it dry.

How long does the carpet drying process take?

Most wet carpet jobs need 24 to 72 hours of drying, and we monitor the drying during that time. It depends on how wet the carpet is, the weather and the airflow in the room.

Will you remove my furniture?

No, we do not move furniture. Please lift small items and anything valuable off the wet carpet if it is safe to do so, and tell us about large furniture when you call.

Can you prevent mould from growing?

No one can promise that. Mould can grow in carpet and underlay that stay damp, so getting the water out quickly lowers the risk. If you can already see or smell mould, tell us when you call.

Do I need carpet cleaning after the drying is complete?

Usually, yes. After we extract the water, we clean the carpet with hot water extraction. Carpet soaked by sewage or outside flood water is a different job, and we will tell you if you need a specialist restoration company.

Does your service help with insurance claims?

We give you an invoice that describes the work we did, and you can pass it to your insurer. We cannot tell you what your policy covers.

What areas do you service?

We offer wet carpet drying in Canberra and Queanbeyan, including Googong. We do not offer this service in Sydney.

What is included in your standard drying service?

We check the carpet with a moisture meter, extract the water with our truck-mounted machine and clean the carpet. We test the moisture again at the end. If the room needs air movers or dehumidifiers, we will tell you in the quote. We do not lift carpet or dry the underlay and subfloor.

Why wet carpet must be dried properly

Carpet and underlay that stay damp can grow mould. NSW Health advises fully cleaning and drying water-damaged carpets, and notes mould can cause a runny or blocked nose and irritated eyes and skin. We use moisture meters to check the carpet and do a final moisture test before we finish.
